The knowledge to provide the highest standard of care

WV Board of Dentistry CE required topics for re-licensure:

General Supervision Permit: 3 CEUs required in identification and prevention of Office Emergencies.

Public Health Permit: 3 CEUs required each in Office Emergencies and Public Health Content.

REQUIRED FOR ALL DENTAL HYGIENE LICENSES
Infection Control or Substance Abuse or Tobacco Cessation or Occupational Hazards – 2 CEUs required in one area.

Health Care Provider CPR - a hands on practical is required. This may be in addition to an online written review and test. American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR are both acceptable.

The West Virginia Dental Hygienists' Association is committed to providing all required continuing education courses over the two year reporting period, except for CPR.

WV Board of Dentistry recently amended requirements to allow 80% of CE credits to be completed online.

The current reporting period runs February 1, 2024 through January 31st, 2026.
